One injured in Nevada hit-and-run accident

Many people in Washoe County who are involved in a car accident rely on the help of "Good Samaritans" during their time of need. However, assisting a person who has been involved in a car wreck can be dangerous, as one recent incident has shown.

A hit-and-run accident occurred recently on Interstate 80 westbound that has left the Nevada Highway Patrol looking for the driver of a semi-truck. The accident began when an automobile rolled over, and another motorist saw them and stopped to render aid. While helping the motorist who rolled over, a semi-truck struck the second motorist, and then fled the scene of the accident. The injured motorist was flown to an area hospital. It has not yet been reported what condition the motorist is in.

The semi-truck involved in the hit-and-run crash has white doors and a red cab. Its right side would be damaged with gray paint on its side. Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the accident or identified the semi-truck driver to phone them.

Those who are injured by hit-and-run drivers may want to pursue a lawsuit, but may think that they'd be unable to do so. However, they should not lose hope. With the help of the public and police, it may be possible to identify hit-and-run drivers. Once identified, the appropriate actions can be taken. Not only can the car accident victims pursue compensation for medical expenses, lost wages and pain and suffering, but through a lawsuit it is possible to hold those who cause car accidents accountable for their actions.
