Person injured by hit and run tractor trailer driver

Washoe County residents never expect they will be injured in an accident. Most drivers are safe and careful drivers, but accidents still occur. Some of these accidents are serious and cause grave injuries.

A passerby was injured recently on I-80 when he pulled over to help a driver who was in a roll over accident. The passerby and his car was hit by a semi-truck. The semi-truck driver drove off and left the scene. The victim was taken to the hospital as the result of their injuries. The Nevada Highway Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating the semi-truck driver.

Doing good deeds should not result in someone receiving an injury. When other drivers are not careful and cause an accident, they should be held accountable. If a person has been involved in an accident they may want to speak with a legal professional who is skilled in personal injury. An attorney can visit the accident scene and interview witnesses. They can also review police reports and try and get answers as to what happened to cause the accident. If it is determined that another driver is at fault, the victim may be able to collect compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, lost wages and other damages.

A serious car accident can lead to a person being out of work for a long time and accumulating medical bills. It can lead to a family having to file for bankruptcy. An attorney can make sure a victim knows their legal rights to hold a negligent party responsible for their mistake.
