Nevada motorcyclist lucky to be alive after crash

Many people in Nevada drive an automobile, but there are some whose preferred mode of transportation is a motorcycle. Whether zipping to or from work, going on a short errand or taking a more leisurely ride through one of Nevada's many scenic routes, motorcyclists are a common sight on Nevada's streets and highways.

However, there is an element of danger in motorcycling. Oftentimes this danger comes in the form of other motorists, who fail to notice a motorcyclist and crash into them. One Nevada motorcyclist is lucky to be alive after one recent crash that sent the motorcyclist to the hospital.

According to police, the accident took place at an intersection. The motorcyclist was heading due north and the driver of an automobile was heading due south. The driver of the automobile turned left into the intersection, and struck the motorcyclist. The motorcyclist was flown to an area hospital with injuries that have been described as "substantial" and "significant," but fortunately were not life-threatening. The driver of the automobile was unharmed.

The motorcyclist in this situation may be lucky to be alive, but motorcyclists involved in motor vehicle crashes often are seriously injured or even killed. The road to recovery can be long, painful and expensive. Therefore, motorcyclists involved in car accidents that were the fault of another motorist may want to determine whether they can pursue a lawsuit against that motorist. For example, the motorcyclist may want to pursue damages for medical expenses, lost wages or pain and suffering. A personal injury attorney can advise injured motorcyclists as to their rights following an accident.
