Motorcyclist suffers personal injury in crash with drunk driver

Motorcycles are often on the road in Reno and throughout Nevada. When sharing the road with a motorcyclist, it is important for drivers of normal vehicles to keep a close eye on them to avoid a crash. However, when the driver of a conventional vehicle is not paying attention, is under the influence, is driving recklessly or is negligent, it raises the likelihood of an accident and personal injury for a rider. Since motorcyclists are naturally vulnerable, there is a significant chance that there will be severe injuries and death. For people who have been hurt in a motorcycle crash or the family of a loved one who died, it is crucial to have legal advice to consider all their options.

A motorcyclist was severely hurt when he was hit by an alleged drunk driver. The accident happened in the late morning at around 11:30 a.m. According to the initial investigation, the 32-year-old male driver of a Chevrolet pickup is believed to have been heading east when he hit the rider as he was turning to go south. The driver of the pickup stayed at the scene and was being cooperative. He was subsequently arrested for DUI. The rider was taken to the hospital. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Motorcyclists will sing the praises of their chosen method of transportation. The open air, the excitement of being on such a powerful machine - these are some of the reasons why a rider will take to the road on a motorcycle. That does not diminish the danger they face when they are in a crash with a conventional motor vehicle. No matter how cautious they are or how much protection they wear, they are still in danger of broken bones, brain trauma, back injuries and more. After a motorcycle accident, there can be lost wages, major medical costs and the need for extended care. A legal filing is not only important to cover the costs, but it can be vital to investigate the accident from the rider's perspective.

An alleged drunk driver crashed into a motorcyclist causing serious injuries to the rider and sending him to the hospital. The driver was arrested. As the investigation continues and the rider is treated, he and his family must make sure they are fully protected and all the necessary evidence is accrued. A law firm that has experience with personal injury cases involving motorcycles and drunk drivers should be called for advice and help.
