Man and child suffer personal injury in pedestrian accident

When people cross the street in Reno, they must be fully aware of vehicles that are heading their way. This is true even if they follow the rules for pedestrian safety and the vehicles have a red light. Drivers might be distracted, be under the influence or simply be reckless and negligent. This can cause a pedestrian accident. Pedestrians - especially children - are inherently vulnerable to injuries and fatalities when they are hit by a motor vehicle. With all the problems that arise after such a crash, having legal advice on pursuing a personal injury lawsuit is crucial.

A man and his daughter were hit by a car as they crossed the street. The accident occurred at approximately 8 p.m. According to the investigation, the vehicle was heading west and the man and child were in the crosswalk. The driver stayed at the site of the crash and is cooperating with law enforcement. It is not believed that impairment was a factor or that the driver was driving at excessive speed. It is possible that the sun was an issue. The victims' injuries were said to be severe and they were hospitalized.

Pedestrians will inevitably suffer far worse injuries when they are hit by a vehicle than people who are protected by being inside vehicle. They can suffer brain trauma, broken bones, spinal cord damage, cuts and worse. When it is a child, the injuries can be life-changing and even fatal. Given the medical expenses, long-term damage and other problems people will face after a pedestrian crash, having legal advice is a must as they move forward. This can help them with securing compensation to pay for all they have lost.

When there is a pedestrian accident and people are injured, a full investigation is needed to gather evidence and determine how and why it happened. Since a man and his daughter were injured in this crash and are hospitalized, they and their family must concentrate on their recovery. Part of that is making certain they are financially protected and have help with considering a personal injury lawsuit.
